There’s something about the holidays that makes you realize just how quickly another year has gone by.

The kids are a little taller. Someone may have lost a few teeth. The toddler who wouldn’t sit still last Christmas suddenly looks so grown up. And somehow, the family you see every single day has changed right in front of you.

That’s one of the reasons I love Holiday Mini Sessions so much. They give us a few minutes to capture your family exactly as they are in this season—the personalities, the smiles, the snuggles, and all those little things you don’t realize you’re going to miss until they’ve changed.

These quick and fun Christmas Mini Sessions are perfect for updated family portraits, holiday cards, gifts for grandparents, and photographs you’ll be so glad you have years from now.

Sessions will take place at my residential photography studio in Moseley, Virginia, conveniently located for families throughout Richmond, Midlothian, Chesterfield and the surrounding areas.

What to Expect

Holiday Mini Sessions are designed to be simple, relaxed and fun. In just 15 minutes, we’ll create a variety of beautiful portraits of your family and children without asking little ones to last through a long photography session.

Each session includes:

15-minute Holiday Mini Session
Private proofing gallery delivered within one week
Families and groups of up to five people
Children ages 6 months and older
A special holiday cookie treat to take home after your session ❤️

A $59 reservation credit is required to reserve your session. Your entire $59 reservation credit will be applied toward the digital image collection you choose after viewing your gallery.

10 fully retouched digital images — $299
Full gallery — $399

Additional fully retouched digital images may be purchased for $30 each.

Your $59 reservation credit is applied toward the collection prices above and is not an additional fee.

A Brand-New Christmas Set for 2026

This year’s Richmond Holiday Mini Sessions will feature a beautiful new Christmas backdrop with Christmas trees, greenery, warm neutral tones and touches of gold.

The Holiday set pictured above is the exact design that will be used for this year’s sessions, making it easy to plan your family’s outfits around the set before your session.

Please note that the backdrop preview is provided to show this year’s set. All client portraits will be photographed and fully retouched by Katie Kraft Photography.

A Few Things to Know

Because Holiday Mini Sessions are just 15 minutes, they are best for families who are comfortable with a shorter portrait experience.

If your child may need a little extra time to warm up, your family needs specific accommodations, you would like multiple outfit changes, or your group includes more than five people, I recommend booking a Signature Portrait Session for a more relaxed experience.

Pets cannot be accommodated during this event.

Because They Won’t Be This Little Next Christmas

We take so many pictures of our children on our phones, but there’s something different about having a beautiful photograph of your whole family together.

One day, you’ll look back and notice how little your youngest was. You’ll remember the missing front teeth, the way your kids leaned into each other, or how your child still fit perfectly on your lap.
