Blooming Bright: Mia’s Senior Session at Maymont and Her Journey to Howard

I had the absolute joy of photographing Mia’s senior session at the always-beautiful Maymont Park. From the moment we started, Mia brought such a calm confidence to her shoot-the kind of presence that’s both powerful and quietly inspiring.

Mia is a senior at Clover Hill High School and will be heading to Howard University in the fall. (Go Bison!) With an interest in pharmacy, it’s clear she’s drawn to a path that combines science, precision, and helping others-and I have no doubt she’ll thrive wherever her passions take her.

Throughout high school, Mia has kept busy with a mix of academics and creative outlets. She plays lacrosse, contributes to the yearbook, and has a love for art that shines through in how she expresses herself. It’s always fun to photograph a senior with so many sides to her story, and Mia brought that richness and personality to every part of her session.

Maymont gave us the perfect setting-blooming flowers, soft summer light, and hidden garden spots that gave her portraits a timeless, natural feel. Her style was effortless and classic, and the images we captured feel both grounded and full of possibility-just like her.
