Midlothian Mines Park Senior Portraits-Cosby High School Class of 2026

There is something so incredibly special about becoming a family’s legacy photographer. A few years ago, I was wandering through the beautiful, sun-drenched paths of Midlothian Mines Park with Allison for her senior portraits, and I remember thinking how lucky I was to witness such a big milestone. Life has a way of coming full circle, and heading back to those same trails with her sister, Abby, to celebrate her own senior year at Cosby High School was such a joy.
One of my favorite things about being a photographer in Chesterfield County is getting to revisit these meaningful locations and see them through a fresh lens. Abby wanted to honor the family tradition by choosing Midlothian Mines Park, but she was so intentional about making sure this session reflected her own unique style. We spent the evening chasing the glowy Virginia light, crossing the bridges and exploring the quiet, wooded paths that make this area a dream for high school senior photography.
Abby showed up with the most perfect wardrobe, and her multiple outfit changes allowed us to capture so many different sides of her personality. But the real highlight of the day was getting those portraits of Abby with her car. I always tell my seniors that these sessions are about more than just a pretty photo; they are about the memories of your high school journey and the independence you’ve worked so hard for. Seeing her lean against her car as the sun dipped behind the trees was one of those moments that felt both high-end and completely authentic to her story.
Looking through Abby’s gallery reminds me why I love what I do. It’s about more than just a camera; it’s about freezing time for families in the Woodlake and Midlothian area before the next big chapter begins. To the Cosby High School Class of 2026 and 2027, my calendar is officially open and filling up fast. If you’re looking for a senior portrait experience that feels like a celebration and looks like a dream, I would love to be the one to tell your story.
