Cadence’s senior session was such a fun combination of natural portraits, classic Richmond scenery, and relaxed moments that truly reflected her personality. We started her senior pictures at Meadow Farm Museum and Crump Park before heading to a nearby field for the second half of her session, which gave her gallery such a beautiful variety of images.

Cadence is a senior at Glen Allen High School and loves dance, reading, and photography. As a Richmond senior photographer, I always love getting to photograph seniors who bring their own interests and personality into their session, and Cadence did exactly that throughout the entire evening.

At Meadow Farm Museum at Crump Park, Cadence wore a beautiful blue and white floral dress along with a white top paired with blue jeans, which fit perfectly with the rustic buildings, trees, and natural scenery throughout the park. For the second half of her senior session in the field, she changed into a flowing white dress that photographed beautifully against the tall grass and open backdrop. The combination of outfits gave her gallery such a timeless and natural feel while also adding a great mix of casual and dressier senior portraits.

Before her session, Cadence shared a Pinterest board with inspiration photos she loved, which helped us create a session that felt natural, relaxed, and true to her personal style. One of my favorite things about photographing high school seniors is getting to customize every session around each senior’s vision, and Cadence’s session came together so beautifully.

Since Cadence enjoys photography herself, she naturally paid attention to little details and creative ideas throughout the session. Her dance background also made posing feel effortless and natural in front of the camera, which helped create such genuine portraits throughout the evening.

One thing I loved about this session was the variety we were able to create by combining two locations. Meadow Farm Park offered a timeless Richmond feel while the field gave her portraits a softer and more natural look. The combination worked perfectly together and gave Cadence a gallery full of images that felt both classic and personal.

Senior year is such an exciting season, and it is always such an honor to document this time for families throughout Richmond, Glen Allen, Henrico, Short Pump, Midlothian, and the surrounding Richmond, Virginia areas.
