Olivia's Senior Session at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Maymont Park

I can hardly believe I'm writing a blog post about my own daughter's senior pictures! After spending so many years photographing high school seniors throughout Richmond, it's a little surreal that it's finally Olivia's turn. I've watched so many families celebrate this milestone, and now here I am, wondering how my own daughter is already a senior!

Olivia is a senior at Clover Hill High School in Chesterfield, Virginia, and to say she stays busy would be an understatement! She's captain of the varsity volleyball team, plays varsity soccer, serves as a school ambassador, and is a site manager for i9 Sports. She's incredibly involved in her school and loves being part of everything that's happening during her senior year.

For Olivia's senior pictures, we chose two of my favorite locations in Richmond—Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Maymont Park. Both are absolutely beautiful for senior portraits, and I loved being able to photograph her in different settings.

Lewis Ginter gave us gorgeous gardens, flowers, and beautiful greenery, while Maymont offered a completely different look with its stone pathways, gardens, and beautiful natural backdrops. Between the two locations, we were able to create so much variety in her senior portraits!

Olivia brought several outfits from Altar'd State, Free People, and PacSun. I loved the combination of dressier pieces and more casual looks, which gave each part of her session a different feel. Choosing outfits that reflect your personal style is one of my favorite parts of planning senior pictures, and Olivia's choices were perfect for both locations.

As her mom, photographing this session was especially meaningful. I'm so used to being behind the camera capturing these moments for other families, but this time it was my own daughter standing in front of my lens. It's hard to believe how quickly the years have gone by, and I'm so thankful to have these photographs of her during such a special time in her life.

Olivia has so much to look forward to this year, from volleyball and soccer to all the fun senior traditions and memories with her friends. She's also incredibly excited about heading off to college next fall, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her!

Olivia, I'm so proud of the young woman you've become. I hope you enjoy every minute of your senior year, and I can't wait to see all the wonderful things ahead for you! Love you so much! ❤️
